Blue Tornado was slow to begin. Velocity Anifrid crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Dream Gem, Spritely Mac, Big Boss Bree and Swift Gem. Big Boss Bree and Macs Road collided on the first turn checking Big Boss Bree. Dream Gem and Macs Road collided approaching the home turn checking Macs Road and severely checking Dream Gem; Spritely Mac and Macs Road collided as a result. Blue Tornado raced wide in the home straight.
