Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D Wilcocks (representing trainer Ms J. Hampshire) regarding the length of time Staggerism has had between races. Staggerism last raced on 30.6.18.Mr D. Wilcocks stated the greyhound was resuming racing after recouperating from an operation.
Barcia Houdini, Zipping Dozer and Dewana Haand were slow out.
Barcia Houdini and Soda Flakes collided soon after the start checking Soda Flakes. Stylish Missile and Hashtag Spolly collided soon after the start. Stylish Missile and Staggerism collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Hashtag Spolly and Staggerism collided entering the back straight checking Staggerism. Stylish Missile and Zipping Dozer collided on the back straight and again approaching the home turn. Start The Show and Dewana Hand collided several times from the third turn to approaching the the home turn.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. B Dewan, the trainer of Dewana Hand regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.
Stewards questioned Ms M Boyle regarding her failure to catch Stylish Missile in this event. After taking evidence from Ms Boyle, Stewards charged M M Boyle wth a breach of GAR 48 for failing to catch Stylish Missile after being engaged by Trainer, Mr S Kyriacopoulos, to do so. Ms Boyle pleaded guilty to the charge and after taking into consideration Ms Boyle's unblemished record under this rule for 11 months, fined her the sum of $100.
