Stewards spoke to Ms Samantha Hooke, the trainer of Mepunga Tycoon, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mepunga Tycoon last raced on 26 October 2017. Ms Hooke stated that the greyhound was resuming following an injury to both metacarpals. Ms Hooke also declared a new weight of 39.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mepunga Tycoon last raced at 37.6kg.
Mepunga Tycoon, Tobias Kelton, Lane Morris and Boston You Essay were slow to begin.
