Stewards spoke to Mr Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Fran Keeping, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Fran Keeping last raced on 22 June 2018.  Mr Edwards stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

Woody's My Name, Que Allen and Dyna Reaver were slow to begin.  Woody's My Name, Tory's Rocket and Que Allen collided soon after the start, checking Woody's My Name and Que Allen.  Woody's My Name and Tory's Rocket collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Que Allen contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Dyna Reaver and Missy Meghan collided on the first turn, checking Miss Meghan; causing Woody's My Name to gallop on Missy Meghan, severely checking Woody's My Name, Tory's Rocket and Missy Meghan; causing Tory's Rocket to stumble and lose considerable ground; and causing Woody's My Name and Missy Meghan to fall.  Dyna Reaver and Enable Me collided entering the home straight.

Woody's My Name was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist spike wound and a right hindleg calf injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Que Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right and left hindlegs, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Meghan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg thigh injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Lucky Luna and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 5.14 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Aaron Farley was fined the sum of $100.

Spector Icon was slow to begin.  Swift Mandy and Poppy Yaala collided soon after the start.  Blackpool Remi, Harper's Hand, Blunderbuss, Swift Mandy and Poppy Yaala collided approaching the first turn, checking Harper's Hand, Swift Mandy and Poppy Yaala; causing Harper's Hand to stumble, and severely checking Blunderbuss.  Blunderbuss and Swift Mandy collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr Aaron Farley, the trainer of Ellen's Stardust, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ellen's Stardust last raced on 25 May 2018.  Mr Farley stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following retirement.  Stewards noted that the greyhound ran a clearing trial at Traralgon on 24 September 2018 and was cleared.

Gunmetal Liam was slow to begin.  Gunmetal Liam and Ellen's Stardust collided soon after the start, checking Gunmetal Liam.  Tiggerlong Nosey, Really Magic, Mini Dozer, Love Laughing and Why Not Cory collided approaching the first turn, checking Mini Dozer and Love Laughing.  Really Magic checked off Tiggerlong Nosey approaching the first turn, checking Love Laughing.  Puffin' Stuff and Ellen's Stardust collided on the first turn, checking Why Not Cory, Puffin' Stuff, Gunmetal Liam and Ellen's Stardust; causing Gunmetal Liam to race wide.  Love Laughing, Why Not Cory and Ellen's Stardust collided on the home turn, checking Love Laughing and Ellen's Stardust, and severely checking Why Not Cory; causing Why Not Cory to fall.  Puffin' Stuff and Gunmetal Liam collided approaching the winning post.

Why Not Cory was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right and leg forelegs and a right hindleg split webbing injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Buckle Up Spud was a late scratching at 4:25 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Terry Burns was fined the sum of $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Chardy.

Gold Odessa, Chardy and Dyna Drew were slow to begin.  Dyna Winter and Tijuana Icon collided on the first turn, severely checking Dyna Winter and Shannon Allen; causing Dyna Drew to race wide.  Dyna Winter checked off Shannon Allen approaching the home turn.  Gold Odessa and Tijuana Icon collided approaching the winning post.

Dyna Quota stumbled at box rise.  Start The Show and Dundee Jitterbug collided approaching the first turn, checking Start The Show.  Pietra Allen checked off Romany Girl on the first turn, checking Dundee Jitterbug.  Dewana Jayden and Romany Girl collided on the second turn, checking Dewana Jayden.  Pietra Allen and Dundee Jitterbug collided entering the back straight.  Pietra Allen checked off Dundee Jitterbug entering the home straight.

Vanishka was slow to begin.  Pinciotti and Spokane Flick were very slow to begin (3L).  Hillside Lady checked off Mumma's Meatloaf approaching the first turn.  La Bamba Icon and Mumma's Meatloaf collided on the first turn, checking La Bamba Icon, Mumma's Meatloaf and Absolute Breeze.  Hillside Lady raced wide on the first turn.  Vanishka and Mumma's Meatloaf collided approaching the second turn, checking Mumma's Meatloaf.  Absolute Breeze and Spokane Flick collided on the home turn, checking Absolute Breeze.

Stewards spoke to Mr Barry Toner, the catcher of Dyna Alia, regarding his failure to catch the greyhound for this event.  Stewards reminded Mr Toner of his responsibilities when catching a greyhound and in taking evidence took into account that this was Mr Toner’s first offence.

Last Princess was vetted prior to kennelling after the trainer, Mr Kevin Ward expressed concerns regarding the greyhounds temperture.  The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Last Princess and no abnormalities were found.  Last Princess was cleared to race.

Sticky Nicky, Ivey's Affair and Doused In Mud were quick to begin.  Midnight Marzy and Whiney Whine collided soon after the start, checking Whiney Whine.  Swift Abbey and Midnight Marzy collided approaching the first turn, checking Swift Abbey.  Ivey's Affair and Doused In Mud collided approaching the first turn, checking Ivey's Affair, and severely checking Doused In Mud.  Swift Abbey and Winey Whine collided approaching the winning post.

Why Not Ginger was quick to begin.  Wolf Point and Go Go Guru were slow to begin.  Doran's Call, Gappy Hilmore, Dyna Yami and Zipping Amber collided approaching the first turn, checking Gappy Hilmore and Dyna Yami.  Dyna Yami and Go Go Guru collided on the first turn.  Doran's Call and Zipping Amber collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.  Gappy Hilmore raced wide in the home straight.

Buckle Up York was quick to begin.  Call Me Waylan went up with the lids and was slow to begin.  Don's Just Under checked off All Inn Taylor approaching the home turn, severely checking Don's Just Under and Xtreme Notice; causing Don's Just Under to race wide.

Don's Just Under was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg calf injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Xtreme Notice was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Mr Gregory Graham, trainer of Woodleigh Blaze, declared a new weight of 35.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Woodleigh Blaze last raced at 34.5 kgs.
