Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Fran Keeping, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Fran Keeping last raced on 22 June 2018. Mr Edwards stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.
A pre-race sample was taken from Fran Keeping.
Woody's My Name, Que Allen and Dyna Reaver were slow to begin. Woody's My Name, Tory's Rocket and Que Allen collided soon after the start, checking Woody's My Name and Que Allen. Woody's My Name and Tory's Rocket collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Que Allen contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Dyna Reaver and Missy Meghan collided on the first turn, checking Miss Meghan; causing Woody's My Name to gallop on Missy Meghan, severely checking Woody's My Name, Tory's Rocket and Missy Meghan; causing Tory's Rocket to stumble and lose considerable ground; and causing Woody's My Name and Missy Meghan to fall. Dyna Reaver and Enable Me collided entering the home straight.
Woody's My Name was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist spike wound and a right hindleg calf injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Que Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right and left hindlegs, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Meghan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg thigh injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.
