Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 8 minutes due to an issue with the lure and the catching pen gate prior to the running of this event.
An Out Of Competition sample was taken from Cosmic Chieftain engaged in this event on 07/09/18 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Audacious Poppy and Wadelock Sampson were quick to begin. Dr. Mino and Woofa Combo were slow to begin. Woofa Combo and Oh So Sleek collided approaching the first turn checking Woofa Combo. Cosmic Chieftain and Audacious Poppy collided on the first turn checking Dr. Mino, Cosmic Chieftain and Audacious Poppy. Wadelock Sampson and Oh So Sleek collided on the first turn checking Wadelock Sampson. Oh So Sleek raced wide entering the home straight.
Stewards contacted Mr. R. Keating the trainer of Wadelock Sampson after he failed to have the greyhound vetted as listed on the clearance to leave course form and leaving the course without Stewards permission. Stewards directed Mr. Keating bring Wadelock Sampson to Sale on 16/09/18 to be vetted.
Stewards spoke to Lure Driver Mr. S. Courts and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding his pre race checks prior to commencement of the lure.
Stewards spoke to catching pen gate attendant Mr. C. Moran regarding his failure to open the flap on the gate to allow the lure to pass prior to start of the event. Stewards issued Mr. Moran with a severe reprimand and referred the incident to his Manager Mr. A. Scott.
