Superior Joyce was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Mahi Indian was a late scratching at 12.01pm with Stewards Permisssion - Non Penalty.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. White the trainer of In A Spin regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  In A Spin last raced on 23/05/18.  Mr. White stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.  Mr. S. White declared a new weight of 29.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  In A Spin last raced at 30.9kg.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 8 minutes due to an issue with the lure and the catching pen gate prior to the running of this event.

Stewards contacted Mr. R. Keating the trainer of Wadelock Sampson after he failed to have the greyhound vetted as listed on the clearance to leave course form and leaving the course without Stewards permission. Stewards directed Mr. Keating bring Wadelock Sampson to Sale on 16/09/18 to be vetted.

Stewards spoke to Lure Driver Mr. S. Courts and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding his pre race checks prior to commencement of the lure.

Stewards spoke to catching pen gate attendant Mr. C. Moran regarding his failure to open the flap on the gate to allow the lure to pass prior to start of the event.  Stewards issued Mr. Moran with a severe reprimand and referred the incident to his Manager Mr. A. Scott.

Call Me Waylan was a late scratching at 2.12pm due to illness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
