Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Especial Shiraz.
Rajasthan was slow to begin.
Werner Bale, Zagati and Hillside Lady collided soon after the start. Rajasthan, Vrontios, Werner Bale and Zagati collided approaching the first turn checking Vrontios and Werner Bale. Rajasthan checked off Hillside Lady entering the front straight checking Zagati. Vrontios and Hillside Lady collided approaching the third turn. Hillside Lady checked off Werner Bale in the back straight. Zagati eased approaching the winning post.
Zagati was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr P. Riley, handler of Zagati declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Riley, the handler of the greyhound Zagati regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Zagati with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Riley pleaded guilty to the charge, Zagati was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
