Steward's Report
Talanjee Minnie was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Lektra Zephyr and Charging Yaala collided soon after the start. Classy Aussie, Khlo Money and Emma Lakers collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Zephyr, Charging Yaala, Classy Aussie and Emma Lakers collided approaching the first turn checking Charging Yaala, Classy Aussie, Emma Lakers and Khlo Money. Khlo Money and Emma Lakers collided on the first turn. Lektra Zephyr and Charging Yaala collided several times from the first turn to entering the back straight checking Charging Yaala and Emma Lakers. Khlo Money checked off Talanjee Minnie approaching the home turn. Charging Yaala and Talanjee Minnie collided several times from approaching the home turn to entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Charging Yaala failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Emma Lakers was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs B. Ennis, the trainer of the greyhound Charging Yaala regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Charging Yaala was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained lacerations to the left hind, front left metacarpal and right hock, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Charging Yaala with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Ennis pleaded not guilty to the charge, Charging Yaala was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
