Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Shy Gem upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Brew, the trainer of Shy Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Shy Gem last raced on the 1st June 2018. Mr Brew stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell and a change of kennel.
Blistering Betty was a late scratching at 5.45pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Stanley Ralph was fined the sum of $100.
Aeroplane Bella and Shy Gem were slow to begin.
Shy Gem and Maverick Bob collided soon after the start checking Maverick Bob. Dyna Charlton and Aeroplane Bella collided on the first turn checking Dyna Charlton, Maverick Bob and Shy Gem. Dyna Charlton faltered approaching the home turn.
Dyna Charlton was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Golden Romance - the winner of the event.
