Steward's Report
Macalister Mac and Ruby's Image were quick to begin.
Ledgerwood Road and Samsonite collided on the first turn. Samsonite, Ledgerwood Road, Galloping Rokyto and Go Ekay collided on the first turn checking Ledgerwood Road and Samsonite, severely checking Galloping Rokyto which lost ground as a result. Dr. Cadenza checked off Ruby's Image on the home turn. Go Ekay checked off Dr. Cadenza on the home turn. Ledgerwood Road failed pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn and collided with Macalister, checking Dr. Cadenza and severely checking Ruby's Image.
Ruby's Image was vetted following the event. It was reported that that the greyhound sustained a right sartorius injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Galloping Rokyto was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Ledgerwood Road was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs J. McDowall, the representative of the greyhound Ledgerwood Road regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Ledgerwood Road with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs McDowall pleaded not guilty to the charge, Ledgerwood Road was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
