A pre-race sample was taken from Samba King.
Wadelock Mindy was quick to begin.
Croucher and Samba King collided soon after the start checking Croucher. Newfire Drewie crossed to the outside at the 250m mark checking Banjo Milne. Striker Vardy and High Tale collided at the 250m mark checking Striker Vardy. Articus and High Tale collided at the 150m mark. Newfire Drewie crossed in at the 150m mark checking Banjo Milne, High Tale and Striker Vardy and severely checking Articus; Samba King was checked as a result. Articus and Samba King collided at the 50m mark.
Articus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
