Steward's Report
Samsonite and Bont's Magic collided on the first turn, checking Come On Colour. Kayley's Comet raced wide on the first turn. Come On Colour and Light The Track collided in the front straight, checking Light The Track. Surfonic Gold and Kayley's Comet raced wide on the second turn. Bont's Magic turned it's head, shifted sharply inwards and collided with King Colt in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms Sharyn Combridge, the trainer of the greyhound Bont's Magic, regarding the racing manners in the home straight. Bont's Magic was vetted and re-vetted following event seven. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left and right foreleg sesamoid and left hindleg pencil/whip injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Bont's Magic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Combridge pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bont's Magic was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
