Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Anderson the trainer of Oriental Rhys regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Oriental Rhys last raced on 03/11/17.  Mr. Anderson stated he had been unable to obtain a start with the greyhound.

Oriental Rhys was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Fireball Annie and Oni were slow to begin.  Almani Tee Rex, Iona Roby and Mister Walker collided approaching the first turn checking Iona Roby and Fireball Annie.  Iona Roby and Fireball Annie collided several times on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Almani Tee Rex, Mister Walker, Galloping Bluboy and Oni collided on the first turn checking Galloping Bluboy and severely checking Mister Walker.  Iona Roby was severely checked off Fireball Annie entering the back straight.  Galloping Bluboy and Oni collided on the second turn.  Almani Tee Rex brushed the running rail on the second turn.  Almani Tee Rex was checked off Ebb approaching the home turn.

Mr. I. Anderson the trainer of Oriental Jack declared a new weight of 34.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2).  Oriental Jack last raced at 32.3kg.

Mr. W. McMahon the representative for Trumpeter declared a new weight of 32.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Trumpeter last raced at 30.9kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the trainer of Garrido regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Garrido last raced on 09/08/17.  Mr. McMahon stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.

Honeysuckle Jim and Garrido were quick to begin.  Trumpeter and Oriental Jack were slow to begin.  Oriental Tarj and Celestial Emma collided approaching the first turn.  Oriental Tarj was checked off Little Freck in the back straight  Oriental Tarj and Celestial Emma collided on the second turn.  Misty's Boy was checked off Little Freck approaching the home turn.  Trumpeter was checked off Oriental Tarj on the home turn.

Oriental Jack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right stopper pad, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

It's Debatable was quick to begin.  Brandeen Fi and Shrek's Typhoon were slow to begin.  Brandeen Fi, Sir Badger and Shrek's Typhoon collided on the first turn.  Sir Badger was checked off Shrek's Typhoon in the back straight, Brandeen Fi and Sir Badger collided as a result.  Shrek's Typhoon was checked off Baudelaire on the second turn.  Baudelaire was checked off Apila Cash in the home straight.

Akina Blitz was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Straitline Willy and Go Maysie Go were slow to begin.  Straitline Willy raced wide soon after the start.  Straitline Willy and Gats As Promised collided on the first turn.  Straitline Willy and Hannah Bear collided in the back straight.  Straitline Willy and Akina Blitz collided approaching the home turn.

Emperor Cruz was quick to begin.  Jetmag Storm and Dr. Oliver collided on the first turn.  Dr. Poppel was checked off Zipping Tina entering the back straight.  Jetmag Storm and Dr. Oliver collided entering the  back straight checking Dr. Oliver.  Jetmag Storm was checked off Dr. Poppel on the second turn checking Dr. Watson and Dr. Oliver.  Ends Well and Emperor Cruz collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Duff Bale was a late scratching at 10.20am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Ms. V. Watson was fined the sum of $100.

Anjing Betina was quick to begin.  Zoenah's Legacy went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Popowski and Shiro collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Zoenah's Legacy lost ground in the back straight.  Zulu Zoe and Oakmont Whisper collided in the back straight.

Zulu Zoe was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind leg, no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. McCann the trainer of the greyhound Zulu Zoe.  Stewards deemed the performance of Zulu Zoe unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Zulu Zoe must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zipping Moore was a late scratching at 11.00am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a lost nail on the right hind foot.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Marshmellow and El Tigera were slow to begin.  Here's Tiger and Ancarian Lancer collided soon after the start.  Buzz The Tower and Grey Magic collided approaching the first turn.  El Tigera, All You Got and Grey Magic collided on the first turn checking Buzz The Tower and El Tigera.  Dr. Marshmellow galloped on Ancarian Lancer on the first turn checking All You Got and severely checking Dr. Marshmellow, El Tigera, Ancarian Lancer and Grey Magic causing Dr. Marshmellow and Ancarian Lancer to fall checking Buzz The Tower as a result.  Buzz The Tower and Grey Magic collided approaching the home turn checking Buzz The Tower.

Kayla Las was quick to begin.  Hypo Chared was checked off Kayla Las approaching the first turn.  Scooby Boy, Eden Monaro and Hypo Chared collided on the first turn checking Eden Monaro, Rapid Rock and Lorna Olive, Rapid Rock raced wide and Lorna Olive lost ground as a result.  Scooby Boy and Kayla Las collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Lorna Olive was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left forleg, no stand down period was imposed.

Lost Blue was quick to begin.  Scott Cosmic, Able Bess, Aremac Igor and No Guarantees were slow to begin.  Octo Burn, Aremac Igor and Tricky Trey collided on the first turn checking Aremac Igor.  Scott Cosmic, Able Bess and No Guarantees collided on the first turn checking Scott Cosmic and Able Bess.  Lost Blue raced wide approaching the home turn.

Bounce Pass was a late scratching at 8.21pm on 04/02/18 due to illness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Chase On Case was a late scratching at 2.50pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Bindi and Senorita Pepe were quick to begin.  Sir Fancy was slow to begin.  Bandit Brad was checked off Black Bindi approaching the home turn.  Black Bindi was checked off Senorita Pepe on the home turn.  Gammy's Choice raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms. Y. Cassidy the trainer of Braemar Bossy regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Braemar Bossy last raced on 31/07/17.  Ms. Cassidy stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Braemar Bossy trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 29.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of  16.5 lengths.  Braemar Bossy was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Ms. Y. Cassidy the trainer of Vallexia regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Vallexia last raced on 17/07/17.  Ms. Cassidy stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left triangle muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Vallexia trialled over 315 metres from box 2, weight 28.7kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 21 lengths.  Vallexia was not cleared.

Sooty's Opal trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound won by  margin of 11.25 lengths.  Sooty's Opal was cleared.

Parie Shiraz trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 33.6kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.18 secs, the greyhound was beaten by margin of 11.25 lengths.  Parie Shiraz was cleared.
