Hedonistic and Launch Time were quick to begin.  Mia Maestro went up with the lids at box rise and lost considerable ground as a result (6 lengths).  Hedonistic and Launch Time collided approaching the first turn checking Hedonistic.  Buddie's Al and Hillbilly June collided approaching the first turn checking Hillbilly June.  Golden Fernanda, Hedonistic and Ima Rig collided on the first turn checking Hedonistic.  Buddie's Al faltered in the home straight and lost ground as a result.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Mia Maestro became dislodged during the running of the event.

Buddie's Al was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right wrist.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Don Quixote and San Remo Lass were quick to begin.  Bluey Can Fly was slow to begin.  Bombastic Trixie, Sugar Bear and Little Sidey collided approaching the first turn checking Little Sidey.  Bombastic Trixie, Sugar Bear and Rustic Rose collided on the first turn checking Rustic Rose.  Sugar Bear checked off Alpanda on the first turn checking Bluey Can Fly and severely checking Bombastic Trixie.

Bless 'Em All was slow to begin.  Stellar Flash and Groucho collided on the first turn checking Groucho.  Barnie's Blaster, In Dee Genes, Stellar Flash, Bagpipes Billy and Bound After Gold collided on the first turn checking Barnie's Blaster, In Dee Genes, Bagpipes Billy, Groucho and Bless 'Em All and severely checking Stellar Flash.  Groucho and Barnie's Blaster collided in the home straight.

Miss Peanut and Greysynd Sofi were quick to begin.  Twilight Shae and Emgee Sprinter were slow to begin.  Greysynd Sofi and Spirit Bar collided approaching the first turn checking Spirit Bar.  Spirit Bar, Twilight Shae and Larrikan Bozzie collided on the first turn checking Twilight Shae and Larrikan Bozzie; Larrikan Bozzie fell as a result.  Greysynd Sofi checked off Spring Shower approaching the home turn.  Trapezius raced wide on the home turn.

Following Larrikan Bozzie falling on the first turn, the greyhound regained its feet and jumped the inside rail.  The greyhound ran across the inside of the track towards the home straight and continued to run along with the lure and the field approximately  6 metres on the inside of the rail.  Following the completion of the event, the All Clear was delayed to allow Stewards to review the race, a public announcement was made.  Stewards were satisfied that Larrikan Bozzie did not affect any other greyhound in the event and therefore did not affect the result and the All Clear was given.  

Larrikan Bozzie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hind hock region.  No stand down period was imposed.

Rocket Ruby was slow to begin.  Welshman and Joycee Rae collided approaching the first turn checking Joycee Rae.  Stir Fry Shrimp and Rocket Ruby collided several times on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Benny Big Head checked off Welshman approaching the home turn.  Joycee Rae raced wide on the home turn.  Benny Big Head and Rocket Ruby collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mac's Intention.

Tat Tubby and Air Commander were quick to begin.  Some Spark was slow to begin.  Winlock Hadley, Mac's Intention and Nareen collided on the first turn.  Matty Mateusz and Air Commander collided approaching the second turn checking Air Commander.  Mac's Intention faltered on the second turn, lost ground and pulled up as a result. Winlock Hadley raced wide in the back straight.  Tat Tubby and Matty Mateusz collided entering the home straight.

Mac's Intention was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left hock.  The greyhound was humanely euthanased.

A pre-race sample was taken from Distributor.

Cinnamon Cindy and Test Pilot collided soon after the start checking Test Pilot.  Dessy Fozz and Distributor collided soon after the start checking Dessy Fozz.  All Inn Houston and Distributor collided approaching the first turn checking Distributor.  Cinnamon Cindy and Blazing Lane collided entering the home straight.

As the temperature was significantly lower than 32 degrees Stewards dispensed of the hot weather policy prior to this race.

Oshkosh Jay was quick to begin.  Squirto was slow to begin.  Squirto, Oshkosh Jay, Bert's Special, Tiggerlong Ring, Latifi Sam and Troy Boyce collided on the first turn checking Oshkosh Jay, Bert's Special, Tiggerlong Ring, Latifi Sam, Troy Boyce and Chum's Special.  Latifi Sam galloped on the heels of Chum's Special approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Oshkosh Jay and Bert's Special collided several times on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Latifi Sam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Chum's Special was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its right hind leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to David Keanelly, the trainer of Mahjong Heat regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Mahjong Heat last raced on 19 October 2017. Mr Keanelly stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after having water diabetes.

Merl's Blaze was quick to begin.  Mahjong Heat and Golden Gem were slow to begin.  Mahjong Heat checked off Golden Gem approaching the first turn.  Bushman's Billy and Golden Gem collided on the first turn checking Golden Gem.  Tiger Cabang and Speedway Lass collided on the first turn checking Speedway Lass.  Dyna Elias raced wide on the home turn.  Miss Oreo Mac and Merl's Blaze collided several times on the home turn checking Miss Oreo Mac, Merl's Blaze and Bushman's Billy.

Malick was slow to begin.  Lektra Diamond galloped on the heels of Well Armed on the first turn checking Well Armed, Scott A Secret, Lektra Diamond and Hardy's Banjo.

Stewards spoke to Dallan Klemke, the representative of Lady Ching regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lady Ching last raced on 30 October 2017. Mr Klemke stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a spell and a change of Trainer.

Kraken Lil was slow to begin.  Missy Marlus, Swift Knockout and Lady Ching collided soon after the start checking Swift Knockout and Lady Ching.  Rosso, Missy Marlus and Bound Two Affair collided on the first turn checking Missy Marlus.  Swift Knockout checked off Lady Ching on the first turn.  Lady Ching raced wide approaching the home turn.  Swift Knockout raced wide on the home turn.

Swift Knockout was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hind iliopsoas muscle.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Lireva was slow to begin.  Jockey Bale, William Cabang and Burst Through collided soon after the start checking Burst Through.  Daintree Dynamo and All Inn Youi collided on the first turn checking All Inn Youi.  William Cabang, Dee Big Rig, Lireva and All Inn Youi collided on the first turn checking Lireva, All Inn Youi and Dee Big Rig.  Daintree Dynamo checked around Platinum Rift approaching the winning post.
