Mrs. K. Minne, the trainer of Veetee Mist declared a new weight of 35.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Veetee Mist last raced at 36.4kgs.
Veetee Mist, Valdar Bale and Sir Fancy were slow to begin. Elram Girl and Roll 'Em Maggie collided approaching the first turn. Vanilla Kiss and Fifty Dollar collided in the home straight.
Sir Fancy was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
