A pre-race sample was taken from Fourth Dimention.
Captain Jackie and Where's Lachie were slow to begin. Titanium Boy, Miss Malaysia, Jetyra Buckskin and Fabulous Gee collided approaching the first turn checking all four greyhounds. Titanium Boy checked off Miss Malaysia on the first turn. Miss Malaysia checked off Jetyra Buckskin on the second turn. Fourth Dimention and Rocketing Ruby collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Captain Jackie and Fourth Dimention collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds and checking Where's Lachie which raced wide as a result.
