Upon arrival on course the outside temperation was 28.0 degrees.  Prior to the running of race 1 the outside temperature was 18.0 degrees, as such Stewards dispensed of all race meeting requirements as per Section 27 of the GRV hot weather policy

Mr. B. Templeton the trainer of Pippa's Pride declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Pippa's Pride last raced at 26.1kg.

Tory's Rocket was slow to begin.  Mega McKayla and Flamin' Miracle collided soon after the start.  Crystal Twist was checked off Just Won Lotto approaching the first turn.  Just Won Lotto, Hurricane Craig, Parumba Taylah and Flamin' Miracle collided on the first turn checking Hurricane Craig.  Parumba Taylah crossed out on the first turn checking Flamin' Miracle.  Parumba Taylah and Flamin' Miracle collided several times from the first turn until approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Crystal Twist was checked off Mega McKayla on the home turn.  Parumba Taylah and Flamin' Miracle collided in the home straight checking Flamin' Miracle.  Tory's Rocket was checked off Hurricane Craig approaching the winning post.

Crystal Twist was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.  Trainer Mr. M. Johnson declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Johnson the trainer of the greyhound Crystal Twist.  Stewards deemed the performance of Crystal Twist unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Crystal Twist must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Moles the trainer of Shrek's Tales regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Shrek's Tales last raced on 13/11/17.  Mr. Moles stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.

Mr. G. Edwards the trainer of Sweet Shiraz declared a new weight of 24.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Sweet Shiraz last raced at 25.2kg.

Mrs. L. Randall the trainer of Le Freak declared a new weight of 28.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Le Freak last raced at 30.1kg.

Denny Blue was quick to begin.  Shrek's Tales was slow to begin.  Belron Bliss and Destiny's Child collided soon after the start checking Belron Bliss.  Shrek's Tales galloped on Sweet Shiraz entering the back straight checking Shrek's Tales and severely checking Sweet Shiraz which lost ground and tailed off.  Destiny's Child was checked off Zipping Lucky in the home straight.

Sweet Shiraz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle and right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Lindrea after the greyhound Zipping Lucky was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  Mr. Lindrea was reminded of his responsibilities when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.

Stewards spoke to kennel attendant Mr. B. Crawley after the greyhound Zipping Lucky was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  Mr. Crawley was reminded of his respoinsibilities and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in the future.  This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.

Ms. V. Watson  the trainer of Remembering Dad declared a new weight of 29.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Remembering Dad last raced at 27.6kg.

Go Wilma Go crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Hypo Chared, Overruled, Remembering Dad and Extra Kisses.  Lamington Lass raced wide on the first turn and approaching the home turn. Hypo Chared raced wide approaching the home turn.  Remembering Dad and Extra Kisses collided in the home straight.

Missed My Stop was slow to begin.  Squirto and Karise Fusileer collided approaching the first turn.  Milla Rose crossed in on the first turn checking Merchant Prince, Lakeview Miss and Missed My Stop and severely checking Galloping Leo.  Merchant Prince, Squirto and Vienna Gypsy collided in the back straight checking Squirto and severely checking Vienna Gypsy.  Missed My Stop and Galloping Leo collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Vienna Gypsy crossed in on the second turn checking Galloping Leo and Missed My Stop.  Merchant Prince and Karise Fusileer collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Galloping Leo and Merchant Prince collided approaching the winning post.

Fasoli the representative for Whodat Magic regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Whodat Magic with marring. Mr Fasoli pleaded guilty to the charge, Whodat Magic was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

My Alibi and Bossy Caleb were quick to begin.  Mignon was checked off My Alibi soon after the start.  Joyce's Choice, Sports Knight and Special Member collided on the first turn checking Joyce's Choice and severely checking Special Member which stumbled and lost considerable ground.  Cailah Shakey and Bossy Caleb collided on the second turn checking Cailah Shakey, Bossy Caleb and Sports Knight.  Joyce's Choice was checked off Cailah Shakey entering the home straight.

Special Member was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Lektra Damage, It's Her Fate and Galloping Ashley collided soon after the start checking Galloping Ashley.  Lakeview Harley, Lektra Damage and It's Her Faith collided on the first turn.  It's Her Faith was checked off Lektra Damage in the back straight checking Daisy Patch.  Galloping Ashley raced wide in the back straight.  It's Her Faith and Daisy Patch collided entering the home straight.  Lakeview Harley and Elswyk Max collided in the home straight.  Delta's Magic was checked off Lakeview Harley in the home straight.  Tram Tracker raced wide in the home straight.
