Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Douch, the trainer of Tidelina regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tidelina last raced on 12 April 2017 and is returning after a seasonal spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Captain Risky.
Miss Taryn and Rapanui Reveller were slow to begin. Rapanui Reveller, Miss Taryn, Captain Risky and Juggernaut Train collided soon after the start. Jonny Bravo and Gold Odessa collided approaching the first turn. My Mate Horse was checked off Miss Taryn approaching the first turn. Gold Odessa and Miss Taryn collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Juggernaut Train eased on the first turn severely checking Captain Risky and Tidelina, Juggernaut Train, Captain Risky and Tidelina raced wide as a result. Juggernaut Train eased approaching the home turn severely checking Tidelina, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. My Mate Horse was checked off Gold Odessa entering the home straight. Juggernaut Train and Tidelina collided in the home straight. My Mate Horse and Gold Odessa collided several times approaching the winning post. Juggernaut Train and Tidelina collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Selleck the trainer of the greyhound Juggernaut Train regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Juggernaut Train was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right and left sesamoid, right monkey muscle and right shoulder, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Juggernaut Train with failing to pursue the lure with due commtiment by reason of injury. Mrs. Selleck pleaded guilty to the charge, Juggernaut Train was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
