Playlord was a late scratching at 8:55am due to illness - kennel cough (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding the late withdrawal of Playlord from this event. Trainer Mr A. Mooney stated that the greyhound was examined yesterday prior to official scratching time, and at that time was in his opinion, fit to compete. He added that when he checked the greyhound this morning it was found to be coughing, and for this reason Playlord was a late scratching at 8:55am. Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action.

Mr Keith Lloyd, kennel representative for Toni Toni Toni, declared a new weight of 29.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Toni Toni Toni last raced at 31.1kg.

It All Happens and Miss Springer were slow to begin.

Toni Toni Toni and Tiger Sprite collided on the first turn, checking Toni Toni Toni. It All Happens galloped on the heels of Tiger Sprite approaching the home turn. Tiger Sprite checked off Sketchy Skinny entering the home straight.

Cullquin Daario was slow to begin.

Hope To Wyn checked off Like Lily approaching the first turn. Hope To Wyn checked off Cullquin Cersei on the first turn. Evie Willow, Blondy Two and Cullquin Cersei collided entering the back straight, checking Blondy Two and Evie Willow. Notorious King checked off Like Lily on the second turn. Hope To Wyn and Notorious King raced wide in the home straight.

Cullquin Daario fell after the winning post and was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Shimmy Dat Ray went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4L).

Hillbilly Boy, Cawbourne Dolly and Irinka Jenna collided approaching the first turn. Hillbilly Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left biceps femoris (thigh) and quadriceps muscles. A seven stand down period was imposed.

Mr Tim Noy, trainer of Roll 'Em Maggie, declared a new weight of 27.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Roll 'Em Maggie last raced at 25.8kg.

Satisfactory Trial – Returning from retirement - Secret Number trialled over the 390m from box three, weight 35.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.50, Secret Number was cleared.
