Steward's Report
Playlord was a late scratching at 8:55am due to illness - kennel cough (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding the late withdrawal of Playlord from this event. Trainer Mr A. Mooney stated that the greyhound was examined yesterday prior to official scratching time, and at that time was in his opinion, fit to compete. He added that when he checked the greyhound this morning it was found to be coughing, and for this reason Playlord was a late scratching at 8:55am. Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action.
Mr Keith Lloyd, kennel representative for Toni Toni Toni, declared a new weight of 29.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Toni Toni Toni last raced at 31.1kg.
It All Happens and Miss Springer were slow to begin.
Toni Toni Toni and Tiger Sprite collided on the first turn, checking Toni Toni Toni. It All Happens galloped on the heels of Tiger Sprite approaching the home turn. Tiger Sprite checked off Sketchy Skinny entering the home straight.
