A pre-race sample was taken from Small Rose.
Ruby's Willow and Wise Piquet collided soon after the start. Ruby's Willow, Wise Piquet and Tiny Dreamer collided approaching the first turn, checking Tiny Dreamer; causing Tiny Dreamer to falter and tail off as a result. Especial Shiraz and Small Rose collided on the first turn. Ruby's Willow and Wise Piquet collided in the front straight, checking Wise Piquet. Ruby's Willow checked off Wise Piquet on the second turn. Tarika Tara checked off Wise Piquet approaching the home turn. Meehan Barney and Wise Piquet collided on the home turn, checking Wise Piquet and Tarika Tara. Especial Shiraz and Small Rose collided in the home straight, checking Small Rose.
Tiny Dreamer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg triangle muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
