Steward's Report

Poppy Yaala was quick to begin.  Louisville Lip was slow to begin.  Soda Geoff was very slow to begin (3L).  Tiwi Magic, Glacier Boy and Chantilly Mack collided soon after the start.  Tiwi Magic raced wide approaching the first turn and collided with Miss Malaysia, checking both greyhounds.  Soda Geoff and Miss Malaysia collided on the first turn, checking Miss Malaysia.  Tiwi Magic checked off Miss Malaysia on the first turn and race wide as a result.  Chantilly Mack and Louisville Lip raced wide approaching the second turn.  Soda Geoff checked off Glacier Boy on the third turn.  Louisville Lip failed to pursue the lure with due committment  approaching the home turn, raced wide and collided with Chantilly Mack checking both greyhounds.. Louisville Lip checked off Chantilly Mack on the home turn.  Tiwi Magic raced wide in the home straight.

Glacier Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tail injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Neocleous, the trainer of the greyhound Louisville Lip, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Louisville Lip was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind foot, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Louisville Lip with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Neocleous pleaded guilty to the charge, Louisville Lip was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
