Dapper Diesel and Mickie Raven were slow to begin. Dorothy Dawn crossed to the rail soon after the start. Trouble Brewing and Proud Phoenix collided soon after the start. Cersei and Hard Boiled collided at the 300m mark. Trouble Brewing checked off Proud Phoenix at the 250m mark. Trouble Brewing and Dapper Diesel collided at the 200m mark. Superior Joyce and Hard Boiled collided at the 150m mark. Trouble Brewing and Mickie Raven collided at the 150m mark. Trouble Brewing faltered at the 100m mark and tailed off.
Stewards spoke to S Melville, the trainer of the greyhound Trouble Brewing regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Trouble Brewing was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle and an injured right pencil muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Trouble Brewing with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). S Melville pleaded guilty to the charge, Trouble Brewing was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
