Stewards spoke to Mr Daryl Williams, the trainer of Arapaho Joe, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Arapaho Joe last raced on 3 Feb 2018.  Mr Williams stated that the greyhound was returning following a right wrist injury.

Striker Vardy and Xerox Letter collided soon after the start.  Miss Gypsy Lee and Destini Cheetah collided approaching the first turn, checking Destini Cheetah.  Arapaho Joe checked off Miss Gypsy Lee approaching the home turn.

The start of the event was delayed by two and a half minutes to allow for the correct rug to be placed on Flying Apollo.

Stewards charged Mr Gary Webb with a breach of GAR 46 (1)(b) in that he presented Flying Apollo with the incorrect rug.  Mr Webb pleaded guilty to the charge.  Mr Webb was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to the Parade Steward and reminded them of their responsibilities and asked that they check to ensure that all greyhounds have the correct rugs in future.  This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Taylor, the trainer of Farhar regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Farhar last raced on 17 October 2017.  Mr Taylor stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels and the removal of a back left toe.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Farhar trialled over the 410m from box one, weight 26.3 kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 23:68, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.5 lengths.  Farhar was Cleared.
