Darren Allen was quick to begin.  Firework Joey was slow to begin. 

Darren Allen, Cawbourne Dolly and Poppy Yaala collided approaching the first turn checking Cawbourne Dolly and Poppy Yaala.  Firework Joey checked off Banknote approaching the first turn causing Firework Joey to contact the inside running rail as a result.  Firework Joey checked off Evie Willow approaching the first turn severely checking Firework Joey which lost ground as a result.  Poppy Yaala checked off Cawbourne Dolly approaching the home turn checking Poppy Yaala.  Evie Willow and Poppy Yaala collided entering the home straight.  Firework Joey faded in the home straight.

Firework Joey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left elbow, no stand period was imposed.

Underrated went up with the lids and was very slow to begin (2 lengths).

Miss Manuka and Pinnaroo collided approaching the first turn.  Notorious King checked off Wok Djay approaching the first turn.  Aussie Giant and Wok Djay collided on the first turn.  Whiz and Lonnie Dream collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Underrated veered out and marred the running of Miss Manuka on the home turn. Miss Manuka and Underrated collided in the home straight.

Underrated was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Hammerstein, the trainer of the greyhound Underrated regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Underrated with marring. Mr Hammerstein pleaded guilty to the charge, Underrated was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a )before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fawn Regrets and First Responder were slow to begin.

Triceps Brachii checked off Chochlik soon after the start.  Fawn Regrets and First Responder collided on the first turn checking First Responder.  First Responder checked off Miracles Happen entering the home straight.

Gin Lee's Pride went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Gin Lee's pride, Pandora's Proof, Mexican Ned and Emgee Sprinter collided on the first turn severely checking Pandora's Proof, Mexican Ned and Kalani Hagen.  Mexican Ned checked off Pandora's Proof on the home turn.  Dyna Zapto checked off Zipping Diva approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Ms Brenda Kinder after Emgee Sprinter was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Ms Kinder was issued with a warning for negligence under GAR 86 (o) and reminded of the importance of proper process when kennelling greyhounds. Club Officials were counselled on the issue with the matter also being referred to club management for remediation.

Knuckles Kerley and Serious Secret collided soon after the start.  Rattle Gate checked off Knuckles Kerley on the first turn.  Serious Secret faltered approaching the first turn and lost ground.  Here's The Trump checked off Top Alcohol approaching the home turn. Serious Secret faltered again on the home turn, stumbled and tailed off due to injury. 

Serious Secret was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock injury and was humanely euthanised.

Go Didda Go, Boof's Banjo and Jacko Day were slow to begin.

Storm Search, Perfect Hours, Little Women, Go Didda Go and Boof's Banjo collided approaching the first turn severely checking Go Didda Go, Perfect Hours and Boof's Banjo causing Boof's Banjo to fall.  Go Didda Go checked off Jacko Day on the home turn.

Boof's Banjo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Stir Fry Shrimp checked off Cloud Cover approaching the first turn.  Remain Seated checked off Cloud Cover on the first turn.  Nambrok Agent and Possibly collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Wind Witch was a late scratching at 1:34pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mrs Vicki Brook was fined $100.

Skidlisha was quick to begin.  Nostalgia was slow to begin.

Miss Payne checked off Kimura approaching the first turn.  Kimura and My Territory collided approaching the first turn.  Mac Daddy and Nostalgia collided on the first turn checking Mac Daddy.  My Territory checked off Skidlisha on the home turn. 

Kimura was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Ben's Talon and Monoak were slow to begin.

Destini Exactor and Emma's Sparrow collided soon after the start.  Ben's Talon and Maximum Bliss collided approaching the home turn.  Emma's Sparrow checked off Ben's Talon on the home turn.  Emma's Sparrow and Monoak collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Ms Anita Courts with regard to the form reversal of High Water in winning this event. Ms Courts indicated that High Water performed above the kennels expectations, that nothing had materially changed in High Water's preperation to race and the kennel did not support or back her for this race. In reality, todays improved performance could not be reasonbly explained. It is noted however that High Water jumped better and did not encounter any interference in running, which is an observation rather than an explanation, and these are inevitably factors which assist in positive performances for any greyhound. A urine sample was taken pre-race. 

Ms Cassandra Barnard, trainer of Flowering Rose declared a new weight of 26.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flowering Rose last raced at 24.8kgs.

Flowering Rose checked off Red Lagoon soon after the start.  Jellybean Jess checked off Myrtle Grange approaching the first turn.  Flowering Rose checked off Jellybean Jess on the first turn checking Flowering Rose.  Myrtle Grange checked off Took My Money approaching the home turn. Flowering Rose faded in the home straight.

Flowering Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle and a right deltoid injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Osakalaka trialled over the 460mtrs from box 1, weight 29.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.76, the greyhound won by a margin of 6 ¾ lengths. Osakalaka was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gagey's Snags trialled over the 460mtrs from box 8, weight 33.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.76, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11 ¼ lengths. Gagey's Snags was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Hayley's Style trialled over the 460mtrs from box 5, weight 26.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.76, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 ¼ lengths. Hayley's Style was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial – Returning from Retirement (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr S. Tabb, the handler of Blackpool Shaz regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Blackpool Shaz last raced on 3 May 2017 and is returning to racing from a change of trainer and kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Blackpool Shaz trialled over the 460mtrs from box 3, weight 29.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.76, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 ¾ lengths. Blackpool Shaz was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Jeff Britton, the trainer of Mepunga Tycoon regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Mepunga Tycoon last raced on 26 October 2017 and is returning from a left and right stopper bone injury/operations.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Mepunga Tycoon trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weighed 37.0kgs and was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.80, Mepunga Tycoon was beaten by a margin of 4 ¼ lengths. Mepunga Tycoon was Cleared.
