Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Sciortino, the trainer of Urban Bourbon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Urban Burbon last raced on 18 February, 2018 and is returning to racing following a right shoulder injury. 

A sample was taken from Aston Halle earlier today during a kennel visit by stewards. 

Dex's Affair and Got It Right were quick to begin. Lightning Boxy was slow to begin. 

Aston Halle and Ragadeen collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Ragadeen checked off Tibby Shore on the first turn. Tibby Shore checked off Got It Right on the first turn. Aston Halle and Ragadeen collided approaching the home turn. Dex's Affair and Lightning Boxy collided on the home turn. Aston Halle crossed to the outside on the home turn. Got It Right and Lightning Boxy collided several times approaching the winning post.

Urban Bourbon was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have pannus in the right eye. No stand down period was imposed. 

A pre race sample was taken from Flashing Oaks.

Double Black was slow to begin. 

Swansea Ceri crossed to the rails approaching the first turn and collided with Flashing Oaks. Country Gal, Flashing Oaks and Swansea Ceri collided on the first turn, severely checking Country Gal. Empty Chamber checked off Harper's Hand on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Marion Clay regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Holly's Affair. Stewards directed that Holly's Affair be boxed first in future events.

Pursuant to GAR 51, Stewards reminded handlers, Mr Shaun Mifsud (Flashing Oaks) and Mrs Donna Dean (Harper's Hand) of their responsibilities after they failed to wait for the starter's instructions before boxing their greyhounds.

A pre race sample was taken from Blistering Betty.

Blistering Betty, Why Not Loz and Karaka collided soon after the start. Blistering Betty checked off Buck The Jockey on the home turn and collided with Vivian Shiraz and Karaka; Vivian Shiraz, Blistering Betty and Karaka were checked as a result. Norendal and Why Not Loz collided in the home straight, checking Why Not Loz. 

Stewards spoke to Ms Christine Haigh regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Karaka. Stewards directed that Karaka be boxed first in future events.

Shotgun Shiloh and Lightning Parade collided approaching the home turn, checking Lightning Parade.

Miss Sweet Pea checked off Lady Bullseye on the first turn, checking Galloping Flash. Scooby Scooby Do galloped on Miss Sweet Pea approaching the second turn, checking Miss Sweet Pea, Scooby Scooby Do, Psychedelic Jay and Jobes Return. Scooby Scooby Do checked off Jobes Return on the third turn. Cairnlea Rosie and Sisco Dun collided approaching the home turn. Sisco Dun and Lady Bullseye collided on the home turn. Cairnlea Rosie eased on the home turn. Sisco Dun and Lady Bullseye collided entering the home straight. Cairnlea Rosie eased in the home straight. Psychedelic Jay checked off Sisco Dun in the home straight. Galloping Flash and Lady Bullseye raced wide and collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr A Xerri, the representative of the greyhound Cairnlea Rosie regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Cairnlea Rosie was vetted and re-vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cairnlea Rosie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Xerri pleaded guilty to the charge, Cairnlea Rosie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Crickets Dash checked off Sisco Bella approaching the first turn. Lyka Skywalker and Sisco Bella collided on the first turn, checking Sisco Bella. Kuta's Lad checked off Sisco Bella approaching the home turn. Oh So Sleek raced wide on the home turn. Lyka Skywalker checked off El Grand Knocka entering the home straight. Crickets Dash, Why Not Dom and Super Serena collided approaching the winning post.

Perfect Project was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Oriental Tarj and Sly Shiraz collided soon after the start. Fred Dagg and Aston Liesel collided approaching the first turn. Sly Shiraz and Macalister Ike collided approaching the first turn. Perfect Project checked off Oriental Tarj on the first turn, checking Perfect Project and Aston Leisel; Perfect Project lost ground as a result. Bernardo was a late scratching at 2:43pm due to injury(GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Demand A Panda was slow to begin. 

Demand A Panda and Small Rose collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Dr. Sherlock and Small Rose collided approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from Aston Olivia earlier today during a kennel visit by stewards.

Aston Olivia was slow to begin. 

Polo Pete galloped on Tui approaching the first turn, severely checking Tui and We Love Spolly. Tui and We Love Spolly collided on the first turn, checking Tui. Polo Pete checked off Banjo's Affair approaching the home turn. Sky Flix raced wide on the home turn. Aston Olivia checked off Tui on the home turn. 

Tui was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a ligament rupture to the left fore toe. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Excelencia was a late scratching at 6:15pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Debbie Selleck, the representative for Mahjong Baby regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Mahjong Baby last raced on 28 Feburary, 2018 and is returning to racing following a change of kennels. 

A pre race sample was taken from Prince Mikado. 

Rurik and Mahjong Baby were slow to begin. 

Paua Te Kuri crossed in approaching the first turn, checking Dynamic Rainbow. Dynamic Rainbow, Mahjong Baby and Ozzi Oscar collided approaching the first turn, checking Dynamic Rainbow and Ozzi Oscar;  the muzzle on Ozzi Oscar became dislodged as a result. Ozzi Oscar raced wide approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again in the home straight. 

Ozzi Oscar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right elbow. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
