A pre-race sample was taken from Welshman.
Miss Gingin, Tear Town and Dyna Penny were slow to begin.
Blue Striker, Karaoke Ken and Welshman collided soon after the start, checking Karaoke Ken. Welshman and Royal Solo collided approaching the first turn. Blue Striker galloped on Kloss on the first turn, checking Welshman and Tear Town, and severely checking Blue Striker, Royal Solo, Miss Gingin, Dyna Penny and Kloss; Royal Solo and Kloss fell as a result.
Blue Striker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Welshman was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left sesamoid and sartorius (pencil) muscle injury, and lost a nail on the right front foot. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
