Stewards spoke to Mr B Veleski, trainer of Cavernando, regarding the significant support received for the greyhound on the betting market. Mr Veleski stated that the greyhound had recently performed well at public trials but was unsure how he would perform at its first start. Stewards considered Mr Veleski's explaination and determined that no further action was required.

Wendell Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustianed feet abrasions and sand toe. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr George Dailly, the kennel representative for the greyhound Dyna Elliot, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Dyna Elliot was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot, no veterinary stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dyna Elliot with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Dailly pleaded guily to the charge, Dyna Elliot was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Uma Allen was a late scratching at 12:36PM on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a lost front right toe nail. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Royal Solo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to both fore feet, and bruising over left fore toes. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Kloss was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sesamoid, and right latissimus dorsi muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
