Very Canny  was a late scratching at 6:26pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Jason Formosa was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr R.Morgan, the trainer of Frosty Tiara regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Frosty Tiara last raced on 1 December, 2017. Mr Morgan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being seasonal.

Gin Lee's Pride stumbled soon after the start.  Flashing Lights and Frosty Tiara collided approaching the first turn.  Gin Lee's Pride, Switch Girl, Clovalley Mauri and Flashing Lights collided approaching the first turn checking Gin Lee's Pride, Switch Girl and Clovalley Mauri.  Gin Lee's Pride, Mexican Ned and Switch Girl collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Mexican Ned checked off Switch Girl approaching the home turn.  Gin Lee's Pride and Switch Girl collided in the home straight checking Switch Girl.  Clovalley Mauri and Flashing Lights collided in the home straight.

Due to a technical issue the semaphore board displayed race 4, the broadcaster was notified prior to the all clear being given.

Kimura and Murrabit Benny were slow to begin.  Larrikan Bozzie and Spritely Bob collided approaching the first turn checking Larrikan Bozzie.  Larrikan Bozzie and Compsognathus collided on the first turn checking Compsognathus and Golden Aura.  Compsognathus and Golden Aura raced wide entering the home straight and collided as a result.

Mr G.Campbell trainer of Don Quixote declared a new weight of 32.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Don Quixote last raced at 31.0kg.

Golden Fernanda was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right nostril and split webbing to the left hindleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Will Dazzle was a late scratching at 6:22pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms J.Fothergill was fined the sum of $100.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Reality Sail trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 33.9kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of  4. The time of the trial was 22.4, the  greyhound was beaten by 17 lengths.  Reality Sail was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr R. Matthews, the trainer of Speed Alert regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Speed Alert last raced on 12 October, 2017. Mr Matthews stated that the greyhound was in season and had a metacarpal injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Speed Alert trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.4, the greyhound won by 3.5 lengths. Speed Alert was cleared.
