Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Conway, the trainer of Galloping Wytee, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Galloping Wytee last raced on 14 January 2018. Mr Conway stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after seasonal.
Mr Trevor Whitford, trainer of Doc Meaney, declared a new weight of 32.0 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Doc Meaney last raced at 33.4 kgs.
Doc Meaney and Jagger Moment were slow to begin. Hello Cobber, Spolly's Girl and Galloping Wytee collided soon after the start. Quick Gift and Dr Chella collided soon after the start, checking Quick Gift. Jagger Moment galloped on the heels of Quick Gift on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Dr Chella and Spolly's Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Dr Chella. Quick Gift raced wide entering the home straight. Jagger Moment eased approaching the winning post.
Quick Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg monkey muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Jagger Moment was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer, Mr Andrew Wood declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Andrew Wood, the trainer of the greyhound Jagger Moment, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Jagger Moment with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wood pleaded guilty to the charge, Jagger Moment was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
