Steward's Report
Brenda Kinder, trainer of Hanga declared a new weight of 29.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hanga last raced at 31.3kg on 22 December 2017 and is returning to racing from a right hamstring injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ginza Lion.
Blitzen Bell was quick to begin.
Hanga, Unusable and Ginza Lion collided soon after the start checking Unusable. Kouta Chaos, Swoop And Peck, Ginza Lion and Fashion Queen collided approaching the first turn checking Swoop And Peck. Unusable, Blitzen Bell and Scoota Flash collided on the first turn checking Blitzen Bell. Kouta Chaos and Fashion Queen collided on the first turn checking Kouta Chaos. Unusable and Scoota Flash collided approaching the home turn. Kouta Chaos and Hanga raced wide entering the home straight.
Fashion Queen was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr A. Sacco regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Ginza Lion. Stewards directed that Ginza Lion be boxed first in future events.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (Cramp) - Lektra Blicavs trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 31.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.54, the greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths. Lektra Blicavs was Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Three Toots trialled over the 400mtrs from box 6, weight 28.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.54, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 3/4 lengths. Three Toots was Cleared.
