A pre-race sample was taken from Cruising Solo.

Kraken Smiles and Underrated were slow to begin. Kraken Smiles, Kraken Copper and Cruising Solo collided on the first turn. Underrated faltered on the first turn and lost ground. Trish's Delight and Deadly Basilisa collided approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds.

Underrated was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg chest muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
