Steward's Report
Mr I. Anderson, trainer of Stealthy Flight declared a new weight of 29.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Stealthy Flight last raced at 27.2kgs.
Jen's Magic was slow to begin.
Mega McKayla and Baby Houseman collided soon after the start. Budva crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Stealthy Flight and Hurricane Craig. Mega McKayla and Baby Houseman collided on the first turn checking Baby Houseman. Mega McKayla and Maniac Matilda collided approaching the home turn checking Maniac Matilda. Budva raced wide on the home turn. Stealthy Flight and Hurricane Craig collided entering the home straight. Stealthy Flight and Mega Mckayla collided in the home straight. Mega McKayla eased in the home straight and collided with Stealthy Flight checking Stealthy Flight.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Spence, the representative of the greyhound Mega McKayla regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Mega McKayla was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind achilles, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mega McKayla with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Spence pleaded guilty to the charge, Mega McKayla was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
