Mr Craig Treherne, trainer of Gehrig, declared a new weight of 33.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Gehrig last raced at 34.9 kgs.

Juniper Pearl and Owlette were quick to begin.  Beckham and Gehrig were slow to begin.  Beckham and Gehrig collided soon after the start.  Limburg Patrick and Owlette collided approaching the first turn.  Owlette and Classy Aussie collided on the first turn.  Gehrig checked off the heels of Owlette entering the back straight.  Limburg Patrick checked off the heels of Brindle Delight entering the home straight.  Owlette checked off the heels of Classy Aussie in the home straight.  Owlette turned its head inwards and eased approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Brad Keel, the representative of the greyhound Owlette, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Owlette was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg back muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Owlette with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Keel pleaded guilty to the charge, Owlette was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Bosnich, the trainer of My Girl Josiah, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  My Girl Josiah last raced on 3 January 2018 and is returning to racing after being on season.

It's A Danger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hinleg feet  No stand down period was imposed.

Yongning, Tantalise and Joshua Rocks collided soon after the start.  Sunny's Kayo and Yongning collided approaching the first turn.  Cool Coco and Hotspur Joey collided approaching the first turn.  Shima Deal and Joshua Rocks raced wide on the first turn.  Yongning checked off the heels of Sunny's Kayo entering the back straight.  Yongning, Shooters Ali and Shima Deal collided on the third turn, checking Shima Deal.

Representative, Mr George Dailly was reprimanded pursuant to GAR 46(2) for arriving late to retrieve Shima Deal.  Stewards took into account his offence record, length of time in the industry and level of involvement.  Stewards also noted that the stir up, parade and start time was not delayed.  

May Haze was quick to begin.  May Haze and Mepunga Molly collided soon after the start.  Lockrod checked off the heels of May Haze approaching the first turn.  Fast Car Driving and Slinky Inky collided approaching the first turn.  Slinky Inky, Fast Car Driving and Sure To Excite collided on the first turn.  Lockrod and Slinky Inky collided entering the back straight.  Lockrod checked off the heels of Slinky Inky entering the home straight, checking Mepunga Molly.
