Dewana Chat was quick to begin. Lightning Seven, Limburg Will and It's A Wish collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds. It's A Wish and Mel Moran collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Shimando raced wide on the first turn. Mel Moran raced wide on the second turn and in the back straight. Lightning Seven and Celestial Jewel collided approaching the third turn.
Lightning Seven was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg sesamoid and left hindleg pencil/whip injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
