Mrs Janis Rinaldi, trainer of Destini Galaxy, declared a new weight of 31.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Destini Galaxy last raced at 32.3kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Crackerjack Jim.
Lady Pippa and Lektra Elsa collided soon after the start. Lektra Elsa, Heza Gem and Jackie Jai collided soon after the start, checking Heza Gem. Lady Pippa and Lektra Elsa collided approaching the first turn. Heza Gem and Destini Galaxy collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Lektra Elsa raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Ms T Salter regarding the direction that the greyhound Heza Gem be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
Stewards spoke to Ms T Salter, the trainer of Heza Gem, regarding her failure to arrive at the kennels by the apponted time to prepare her greyhound for racing, pursuant to GAR46(2). Ms Salter was charged amd after pleading guilty to the charge was fined $100.
