Steward's Report
Selynya Kev was a late scratching at 7.35AM due to this meeting being declared hot weather affected after the scratching deadline.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6), catching pen scanner Mr R Johnson did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Prior to this event the outside temperature was 31.5C and the kennel temperature was 19.6C.
A pre-race samples were taken from Daintree Teacake and Hugh Made Who.
Dozer Lad and Hugh Made Who were slow to begin.
Daintree Teacake crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking King Of Diamonds. Dozer Lad, Fiery Miss and Daintree Teacake collided approaching the 100m mark, checking Fiery Miss.
Hugh Made Who was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor lacerations to the left hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS
Prior to race three, Stewards were informed that a pet dog was in an empty vehicle in the car park. Stewards located the owner of the vehicle, Mr Jeff Gorgioski, and further investigations revealed that the pet dog was left unattended briefly by his wife. Mr Gorgioski was reminded of his responsibilities in that no greyhound or any other animal, shall be permitted on the racecourse except with the permission of the Stewards (GAR30).
