Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Oliver.

Lucky Holly was slow to begin.  Stormy Seas and Dee Big Rig collided soon after the start.  Chasing James, Zipping Oliver and Stormy Seas collided on the first turn, checking Stormy Seas.  Fast Freddie eased and checked off Dee Big Rig approaching the home turn.  Fast Freddie checked off Stormy Seas approaching the home turn.  Fast Freddie eased entering the home straight.

Fast Freddie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right hindleg pencil/whip and left hindleg triangle injuries, a seven  day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Hammerstein, the representative  of the greyhound Fast Freddie, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn and entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Fast Freddie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hammerstein pleaded guilty to the charge, Fast Freddie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
