Steward's Report
Backin' Bully was a late scratching at 6.45AM due to illness (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Tiggerlong Ring.
Tiggerlong Ring was slow to begin.
George Regis, Gothamburg and Call Me Deita collided soon after the start, checking Gothamburg. Spring Bobbi, George Regis and Call Me Deita collided on the first turn, severely checking Call Me Deita which fell as a result. Tiggerlong Ring faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Spring Bobbi raced wide in the home straight.
Tiggerlong Ring was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal sprain to the right hock and an injury to the left biceps femoris (thigh) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Call Me Deita was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left biceps femoris (thigh) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Cusack, the trainer of Gin Lee's Pride regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Gin Lee's Pride last raced on 6 August 2017. Mr Cusack stated that the greyhound was returning from a right metacarpal injury and a kennel change. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gin Lee's Pride trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 32.1kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.54, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5L. Gin Lee's Pride was cleared.
