Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins, the kennel representative for Zipping Yoda, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Zipping Yoda last raced on 3rd November 2017. Mr Collins stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right stopper bone injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr Victor Millington, the trainer of the greyhound Starbright Vic, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn. Starbright Vic was vetted and re-vetted following event eight. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pectoral (chest) muscle, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Starbright Vic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Millington pleaded guilty to the charge, Starbright Vic was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Folding Green checked off Con Rod approaching the first turn. Don's Machine and Con Rod collided approaching the first turn  Con Rod and Grand Maximus collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. . Rockin' Rico and Con Rod collided approaching the home turn.

Noonbarra Wind was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal fracture to the left hock. A 28-day stand down period was imposed.

Backin' Bully was a late scratching at 6.45AM due to illness (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

George Regis, Gothamburg and Call Me Deita collided soon after the start, checking Gothamburg. Spring Bobbi, George Regis and Call Me Deita collided on the first turn, severely checking Call Me Deita which fell as a result. Tiggerlong Ring faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Spring Bobbi raced wide in the home straight.

Tiggerlong Ring was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal sprain to the right hock and an injury to the left biceps femoris (thigh) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Call Me Deita was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left biceps femoris (thigh) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Cusack, the trainer of Gin Lee's Pride regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Gin Lee's Pride last raced on 6 August 2017. Mr Cusack stated that the greyhound was returning from a right metacarpal injury and a kennel change. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gin Lee's Pride trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 32.1kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.54, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5L. Gin Lee's Pride was cleared.
