Keep On Runnin' and Oh So Rowdy were slow to begin.  Keep On Runnin' and Pyrenees Classic collided approaching the first turn.  Striker Vardy and Atlantic Rose collided on the first turn.  Pyrenees Classic and Oh So Rowdy collided approaching the home turn.  Oh So Rowdy checked off the heels of Happy Cruising on the home turn.

The boxes failed to open.  All greyhounds were removed from the boxes, vetted and cleared to race.  The boxes were tested and the race commenced approximately 2.5 minutes after the official start time.

Tashendo was quick to begin.  Tye Me Over, St. Pauli and Direct Flight were slow to begin.  Kintamani, Avatar Maximus and Tye Me Over collided approaching the first turn, checking Avatar Maximus.  Tashendo checked off Brake Drum on the first turn and raced wide as a result.  St Pauli and Avatar Maximus collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Martin, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Tye Me Over.  Stewards directed that Tye Me Over be boxed first in future events.

Little Dynamo and Swansea Ceri were quick to begin.  All Inn Fergi was slow to begin.  Apache Bro, Zip Zip Anna and Avatar Vixen collided soon after the start, checking Apache Bro.  Zip Zip Anna and Avatar Vixen collided approaching the first turn.  Swansea Ceri checked off the heels of All Inn Fergi on the first turn, checking Little Dynamo.  Little Dynamo and Swansea Ceri collided on the home turn, checking Little Dynamo which collided with Desini Agitator as a result.

Hit The Deck and No FLuke were slow to begin.  Hit The Deck and Avatar Witch collided soon after the start.  Hit The Deck and Double Ya Back collided approaching the first turn, checking Avatar Witch.  Avatar Witch raced wide on the home turn.  Tye Me Chopper and All Inn Misshap raced wide entering the home straight.  

After the first line of greyhounds Teflon Toby, Winlock Strecker, Scarecrow Tiger and Hannibal Spectre were placed in the starting boxes, the boxes then opened prematurely resulting in those four greyhounds being released and completing the circuit.  As Stewards were not fully satisified that the boxes were in satisfactory working order the event was abandoned.

Greysynd Alpha and Kentucky Sun were slow to begin.  Con Rod and Kiss Me Razley collided approaching the first turn, checking Kiss Me Razley.  Handpass and Kiss Me Razley collided on the first turn, checking Kalani Willow and Kentucky Sun.  Kiss Me Razley collided approaching the home turn, checking Night King.

A sample was taken from Night King - unplaced in the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr Steven Collyer, the handler of Night King, regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.  Stewards charged Mr Collyer with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Night King.  Handler, Mr Steven Collyer, was fined the sum of $50.

Stewards spoke to Ms Tegan Gray, the trainer of Iceni Crusader, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Iceni Crusader last raced on 19 December 2017.  Ms Gray stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an extended spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr DarylWilliams, the trainer of Kayley's Comet, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kayley's Comet  last raced on 6 October 2017.  Mr Williams stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being seasonal.

McIvor Gordon was slow to begin.  Avatar Sparkle checked off Cyrus Rumble approaching the home turn, checking Kayley's Comet and Destini Cheetah.  Kayley's Comet checked off Destini Cheetah approaching the home turn, checking Trickster's Son and McIvor Gordon.  Avatar Sparkle and Destini Cheetah collided on the home turn and entering the home straight, checking Avatar Sparkle.
