Salute The Judge was quick to begin.  Meyentay was slow to begin.  Galloping Flash and Meyentay collided soon after the start.  Dewana Chat and Persian Oasis collided approaching the first turn, checking Galloping Flash.  Galloping Flash and Meyentay collided on the second turn.  Galloping Flash crossed to the outside entering the back straight, severely checking Meyentay.  

Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Treherne, the trainer of Black Zambesi, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Black Zambesi last raced on 27 October 2017.  Mr Treherne stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

Mr Peter Riley, handler of Soda Flash, declared a new weight of 33.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Soda Flash last raced at 34.9 kgs.

Dyna Patty and Uringa were slow to begin.  Rumbling, Come On Enzo and Soda Flash collided approaching the first turn, checking Come On Enzo.  Soda Flash and Black Zambesi collided on the first turn.  Come On Enzo crossed to the outside on the first turn and raced wide.  Soda Flash and Uringa collided on the third turn, checking Soda Flash.  Come On Enzo cliopped the heels of Tyche Onyx approaching the home turn and fell.  Uringa and Tyche Onyx collided entering the home straight.

Come On Enzo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg deltoid muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Blue Magoo, He Shall Fred, Matty Mateusz and Le Baz collided approaching the first turn.  He Shall Fred checked off Le Baz on the first turn.  Blue Magoo and Matty Mateusz collided on the second turn, causing Matty Mateusz to race wide.  Blue Magoo and He Shall Fred collided in the back straight.  Blue Magoo and Le Baz collided on the home turn.

Runnin' On Fire was slow to begin.  Destroyer and Mia Brae collided approaching the first turn.  Blossom Belle crossed to the outside in the back straight and raced wide, causing Tanoan Creek and Destroyer to race wide.  Blossom Belle crossed to the outside in the home straight and galloped on Destroyer, checking Destroyer, and severely checking Blossom Belle.

Sir Jay Jay, Myrniong Corner and Ruby's Willow were slow to begin.  Coalville Tiger and Dyna Elvio collided on the first turn.  Coalville Tiger lost ground in the front straight approaching the second turn and tailed off.  Sir Jay Jay raced wide in the back straight.

Coalville Tiger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Mahi Indian was quick to begin.  Rapanui Revival was slow to begin.  Rapanui Revival and Mars Rising collided soon after the start.  Rapanui Revival checked off Mars Rising on the first turn.  He Shall Johnny, May Haze and Blackjack Neo collided on the home turn, checking May Haze and Mars Rising.

Rapanui Revival was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right foreleg deltoid injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Shaun Coulson, the handler of Liberty Tron, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Liberty Tron last raced on 16 November 2017.  Mr Coulson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

Ballerina was quick to begin.  Raglan Bindi and Gracie's Colour were slow to begin.  Ballerina and Agent Barry collided soon after the start.  Raglan Bindi and Agent Barry collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Quavo and Gracie's Colour collided approaching the second turn.  Ballerina checked off Liberty Tron on the third turn.  Gracie's Colour and Ballerina collided on the home turn.  Shining Glitter and Quavo collided entering the home straight; Shining Glitter raced wide as a result.  Gracie's Colour and Ballerina collided entering the home straight.

Quavo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg deltoid muscle and right hindleg spike wound injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms Bethany Dapiran, the handler of Quavo, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.

Porscha's Girl was quick to begin.  Zoobie was slow to begin.  Seminole Wind and Dashing Impulse collided on the first turn.  Dr Cadenza checked off Dashing Impulse on the first turn.  Dashing Impulse checked off Dr Cadenza on the third turn.  Sweet Sparkle checked off Dashing Impulse in the home straight.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Cairnlea Rosie trialled over the 515m from box eight, weight 30.7 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 31:00, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of one length.  Cairnlea Rosie was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Surf In Vane trialled over the 515m from box one, weight 32.7 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 31:00, the greyhound won by a margin of one length.  Surf In Vane was Cleared. 

Supplementary Report Traralgon 2 March 2018:

Master Rico was presented for a veterinary examination. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right deltoid and right trapezius. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards conducted an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the greyhound Master Rico leaving the course without being vetted following event 6 at the meeting. Stewards spoke to the representative Mr. Luckie Karabitsakos regarding his reasons for leaving the course without first gaining Stewards permission. Stewards charged Mr. Karabitsakos with a breach of GAR 42 (2). Mr. Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined the sum of $100.
