Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Selleck, the representative of Ants In Pants regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ants In Pants last raced on 17 October 2017 and is returning after a chest injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Mahjong World.
Apila Moola, Top Shot Jack and Holyfield were quick to begin. Dr. Jezabel was slow to begin. Double Black, Ants In Pants, Mahjong World and Holyfield collided approaching the first turn checking Mahjong World, Dr. Jezabel and Double Black. Holyfield and Mahjong World collided in the back straight. Dr. Jezabel clipped the heels of Mahjong World in the back straight. Aquiam was checked off Top Shot Jack approaching the home turn checking Dr. Jezabel and severely checking Double Black and Holyfield causing both greyhounds to race wide. Dr. Jezabel galloped on Aquiam approaching the home turn checking Dr. Jezabel.
