Our Echo Rose, Black Shirley, Demand A Panda and Aston Ciobo were slow to begin.  Our Echo Rose and Demand A Panda collided approaching the first turn checking Demand A Panda.  Surgical Wally and Ebb collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Ciobo and Surgical Wally.  Surgical Wally galloped on Ebb on the first turn checking Surgical Wally and Aston Ciobo.  Our Echo Rose and Demand A Panda collided in the back straight checking Our Echo Rose.  Ebb was checked off Aston Ciobo on the second turn checking Surgical Wally.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Selleck, the representative of Ants In Pants regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ants In Pants last raced on 17 October 2017 and is returning after a chest injury.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Mahjong World.

Apila Moola, Top Shot Jack and Holyfield were quick to begin.  Dr. Jezabel was slow to begin.  Double Black, Ants In Pants, Mahjong World and Holyfield collided approaching the first turn checking Mahjong World, Dr. Jezabel and Double Black.  Holyfield and Mahjong World collided in the back straight.  Dr. Jezabel clipped the heels of Mahjong World in the back straight.  Aquiam was checked off Top Shot Jack approaching the home turn checking Dr. Jezabel and severely checking Double Black and Holyfield causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Dr. Jezabel galloped on Aquiam approaching the home turn checking Dr. Jezabel.

Mallee Spring was slow to begin.  Mahjong Ted and Wild Angel collided soon after the sart.  Jonny Bravo and Mallee Spring collided in the back straight checking Mallee Spring.  Mahjong Ted and Hyundai Hawk collided several times approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking Mahjong Ted and Wild Angel.  My Alibi clipped the heels of Wild Angel approaching the home turn checking Mahjong Ted and Hyundai Hawk and severely checking My Alibi which fell as a result.  Aremac Igor and Wild Angel collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Aremac Igor was checked off Wild Angel in the home straight.

My Alibi was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left front foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Mahjong Ted was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A pre-race sample was taken from Philo Bale.

Mizuki was quick to begin.  Tidelina was slow to begin.  Jett Zafonic and Thumb A Ride collided on the first turn.  Zippy Lynet and Thumb A Ride collided on the first turn checking Thumb A Ride.  Tidelina raced wide on the first turn.  Philo Bale was checked off Mizuki on the first turn checking Jett Zafonic.  Thumb A Ride and Tidelina collided entering the back straight.  Tidelina raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  

Tidelina was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left flexor tendon, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

This race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to a Parkes harness race running behind time.

Master Rico and Nicky Neo were slow to begin.  Hazelwood Flyer and Ruby's Image collided on the first turn.  Master Rico faltered on the first turn.

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry after Mr. Luckie Karabitsakos, representative of Master Rico, left the track without having the greyhound vetted and without Steward’s permission. Steward’s directed that Mr. Karabitsakos present Master Rico for a veterinary examination at the Sandown race meeting on Sunday 4 March 2018.
