Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Sol Invictus.

Cozzi was slow to begin.

Cozzi and Mr. Agro collided soon after the start. Deadly Pace and Sol Invictus collided approaching the first turn checking Deadly Pace. Cozzi, Hey Hey Fozz, Deadly Pace and Saloon Princess collided on the first turn checking Cozzi and Deadly Pace causing Hey Hey Fozz to fall. Deadly Pace and Mr. Agro collided approaching the home turn. Tempus Fugit and Cozzi collided on the home turn. Deadly Pace and Mr. Agro collided entering the home straight. Saloon Princess eased the running of Cozzi entering the home straight.

Hey Hey Fozz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left foreleg, right chest muscle and right thigh muscle. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Ashton, the trainer of the greyhound Saloon Princess regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Saloon Princess with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. K. Ashton pleaded guilty/not guilty to the charge, Saloo Princess was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Meeting Comments:-

Mr. C. Newman was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Golden Aura pursuant to GAR 33.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Caulfield, the trainer of Chezza regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Chezza last raced on 6th April 2017. Mr. Caulfield stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from a hock inury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Chezza trialled over the 425mt from box 2, weight 24.6kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.47, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12L. Chezza was cleared.
