A pre-race sample was taken from Yaala.
Fear Fire and Roland View were slow to begin. Knew It and Lady Alliance collided approaching the first turn. Yaala faltered approaching the first turn, fell and contacted the running rail as a result. Knew It, Winlock Rose and Slippery Parker collided approaching the home turn checking Winlock Rose and Slippery Parker.
Yaala was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spinal fracture. The greyhound was humanely euthanised.
