Steward's Report

Allen Lottery, Roger Express and Why That were quick to begin.  Flash Intention was slow to begin.  Allen Lottery, Roger Express and Why That collided approaching the first turn.  Dutch Legacy checked off Allen Lottery approaching the first turn and collided with Aston Frankel.  Aston Frankel checked off Roger Express approaching the first turn and collided with Dutch Legacy.  Dutch Legacy and Dyna Yezza collided approaching the first turn.  Dutch Legacy and Flash Intention collided in the front straight.  Flash Intention checked off Dutch Legacy in the front straight and collided with Dyna Yezza.  Aston Frankel, Dyna Zesty, Roger Express and Why That collided several times on the second turn.  Aston Frankel and Roger Express collided on the second turn.  Flash Intention checked off Dutch Legacy on the fourth turn and collided with Why That.  Aston Frankel and Flash Intention collided on the home turn.  Dyna Yezza checked off Flash Intention on the home turn checking Why That.

Dyna Yezza was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left wrist, right trapezius and left hind toe injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative, Mr. J. Loverso regarding the performance of the race-favourite Dyna Yezza, particularly when racing through the third turn where Dyna Yezza appeared to race awkwardly and have a flat spot for several strides.  After assessing the incident in conjuntion with the veterinary report, no further action was taken.
