Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Sisco Yes.
For Valour, Limburg Sprite and Striking Weetbix were quick to begin. For Valour, Yoda and Destini Peso collided on the first turn. Yoda and Limburg Sprite collided on the first turn. Limburg Sprite and Destini Peso collided on the second turn. Striking Weetbix and Yoda collided on the third turn.
Stewards spoke to Ms Brooke Ennis, the trainer of Yoda, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from turning off the back straight until entering the home straight. Yoda was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and biceps femoris (thigh) muscles, a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), Yoda was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury), in particular that Yoda turned its head outwards on the home turn. Ms Ennis pleaded not guilty to the charge, Yoda was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
