Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Knocker, the representative of Stevie Gee regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Stevie Gee last raced on 12 October 2017. Mr Knocker stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell and change of kennels.
A pre-race sample was taken from Cairnlea Rosie.
Cairnlea Rosie and Gats As Promised were quick to begin. Sale Graze Bindi, Stevie Gee and Pass The Jar were slow to begin.
Cairnlea Rosie eased on the first turn checking Why Not Kylie. High Tenacity checked off Why Not Kylie on the first turn checking High Tenacity, Gats As Promised, Sale Graze Bindi, Why Not Kylie and severely checking Stevie Gee and Pass The Jar. Cairnlea Rosie and Why Not Kylie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Sale Graze Bindi and Stevie Gee collided approaching the second turn checking Sale Graze Bindi, Stevie Gee and Pass The Jar. Dynamo Jezz, Sale Graze Bindi and Stevie Gee collided on the second turn checking Stevie Gee and Pass The Jar. Cairnlea Rosie and Why Not Kylie collided several times on the third turn checking Cairnlea Rosie.
Cairnlea Rosie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr N. Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Cairnlea Rosie regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cairnlea Rosie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Cairnlea Rosie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
